Yamantaka - (Shinje-Shi) - Buddhist Deity

Shinje-shi is the conquerer of the god of death. In his terrifying aspect Yamantaka is also known as Bhairav or Vajra Bhairav (in Tib, Jigzey) and thus also appears to be related to Shiva , one of whose names Bhairava (Terrible). In Tib, Yamantaka is considered a ferocious emanation of Manjushri , and he is the special Yidam (guardian diety) of the Gelukpa order.

The simplest form of Yamantaka has one bull head and the third eye. In his right hand is a chopper and left a skull cup. He has a belt of heads and steps to the right.
