Buddha Mandala Paintings

Buddha mandala paintings, quite simply, are paintings dedicated to and / or showcasing the teachings of Buddha himself. It is considered both Buddhist symbols art and Buddhist religious symbols. These paintings are often showcased in the mandala form: circular charts filled with geometric shapes. Naturally enough, these mandala paintings are filled with Buddhist symbols and images, and Buddhist language symbols.

This type of painting is quite prominent in Buddhist art and Tibetan Art. However, since the Buddhist religion symbols of this art form are becoming quite universal now, the Buddha mandala paintings are also often decorated with a few of the accepted Zen Buddhist symbols.

The Buddhist art symbols or rather, the translation of Buddhist symbols in the said paintings are usually representations of the metaphysical world. To be exact, these are the pure lands that Buddha himself has seen in his visions while undergoing his enlightenment phase. The paintings usually consist of: an outer circle, an inner circle, and one mandala palace right in the middle.

The symbols within each and every circle represent the varying stages by which Siddhartha Gautama Buddha saw the universal truth of life. In effect, this also means that these are the stages any Buddhist has to undergo in order to achieve completion or spiritual illumination. Additionally, the mandala palace represents the sacred space or the Pure Buddha Realm where all the deities and spiritual beings reside; and the very place that adherents should aspire to get to.

Buddha mandala paintings are usually used as an aid to meditation. In the west, most of these paintings have become fashionable home d&'233;cors. They are valued for its uniqueness of design and vibrant coloration.
