Generally, Buddha statues can be found in four positions: seated, standing, walking, and reclining. Now if we are poised to describe the Buddha’s stance we refer to their respective positions like seated Buddha, standing Buddha, walking, Buddha, and reclining Buddha. This article mainly focuses on the standing Buddha statues.
Buddha statues are sacred representations of the Buddhism founder Siddharta Gautama, a monk who persisted in achieving the Dharma or the awakened state of living. Buddha is the title that was given him to refer to his being the enlightened one whose life was dedicated solely to self-discipline and wisdom from earthly negativities like anger and lust.
The standing Buddha statues have gestures that signify their attitudes. An example is a Buddha with his left hand resting on his side and the right hand raised against the chest.
